A Quiet Local Beach with a Simple Okinawa Experience
This beach is a quiet local spot in Nago. It is not a tourist beach, and many people do not know it. But you can enjoy a rare activity here: skipping stones on a clear blue sea.
How to Get There

It is a little hard to find, but it is worth the visit.
Drive about 15 minutes from the Kibogaoka area toward Michi-no-Eki Kyoda. You will reach a point where the highway and the local road to Nago City split.
Just before this split, there is a small left turn. This area is a downhill road, and many cars drive fast. Traffic is also heavy. Please slow down early and check behind you before turning left.
After you enter the small road, drive slowly. You will reach the beach in a short time. The hidden location keeps the beach quiet and peaceful.
A Beach Full of Flat Stones for Skipping

This beach has many flat stones on the sand. This is rare in Okinawa because most beaches have coral sand. You can throw a stone toward the ocean and watch it skip many times. It is a simple but very relaxing activity.
My Small Experience Here

image
I visited this beach to take photos. I tried skipping stones for the first time in a long time.
My first throw skipped 3 times. I tried again, and the second throw skipped 10 times across the calm East China Sea.
I smiled without thinking. The drive felt easier after that moment. A small activity can make your mind feel light.

Sashigusa: A Local Okinawa Game

You can also find sashigusa (a small plant with tiny hooks). If you gently throw it at someone’s back, it sticks. It is a fun and simple local game.
- Kids enjoy it
- Couples can take funny photos
- It creates a small happy moment during your trip

Quiet Beach and Clear Water
The sand is clean and white. The water is clear and calm. There are almost no people here. You can hear only the sound of the waves.
It is a good place to stop, breathe, and reset your mind.
Safety: Stay in Shallow Water
This beach is natural and not managed.
- No lifeguard
- No shower
- No toilet
- No rental shops
If you enter the water, stay in knee to waist-deep water. For real swimming, choose a beach with lifeguards.
Toilets: Use Michi-no-Eki Kyoda (10 min by car)
There are no toilets near the beach. The closest option is Michi-no-Eki Kyoda, about 10 minutes by car. Families with children may want to stop there first.
Parking: Small but Usually Empty
There are a few small parking spaces near the beach. The road is narrow, but cars rarely park here. Short visits are usually no problem.
